Ever had a San Pellegrino Italian Soda? Refreshing and free from artificial colours and flavours, San Pellegrino has been making it’s flavoured sodas since 1932. It’s original claim to fame is it’s mineral water. Every table in Italy has a bottle of Mineral Water, usually two, one “con gas” or carbonated and one “senza gas” or flat. San Pellegrino water is produced in San Pellegrino Terme, where it is naturally mineralized from contact with limestone and volcanic rocks. The springs are located at the bottom of a dolomite mountain wall and then seeps to depths of 2,300 ft – the water has been “produced” by nature here for over 600 years and analysis shows that the water is almost unchanged from samples taken in 1782!!! Popular flavours in Italy are Limonata (lemonade), Aranciata Rossa (blood orange) Chino (chinotto) and Sanbitter (bitters). At Sinatra’s we have Limonata, Aranciata, and Aranciata Rossa…sometimes for the summer we bring in Clementina (clementine) or Melograno e Arancia (Pomegranate & Orange). Next time you are in for a sandwich why not try one – great sandwich and Italian Soda with history!
